Okay, so I'm still quite the lyre beginner, and I don't have the Aklot harp, so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but I did consider both of them while doing my research.

The range of the 16 string lyre is G3-A5, while the 15 string harp is C4-C6, so that's something to consider, depending on the songs you want to play. As for two handed play, I've been doing it on my lyre, but I realize that the standard shape (like the Aklot one you linked) blocks of G3, F5, G5, and A5 due to the shape of the cut off. However, there are other ones that seem to not block off any strings and would be completely open for 2 hand play, like this one, seen in this cover video. Obviously the harp would be completely open. I can't speak to the sound of the harp, but I've been *really* loving the sound of my lyre, which is super resonate and rich and full.

I had considered the Aklot harp a lot, but I too was put off by the doubled price for less, especially since I know that I personally would eventually want to upgrade to a more expensive harp with more strings and levers eventually.

Both options have their pros and cons in terms of sound and range, of course, and at the end of the day it's all personal preference, I suppose. There are youtube videos of the Aklot harp (or 15 string harps in general) being played so that you can hear it's tone compared to the lyre or other small harps.
