Thanks for the recommendations! I'm basically looking for what I guess qualifies now as an older or retro style of game controller, with the two joysticks next to each other at the bottom/middle of the controller as seen in the original image I linked. It's just what I'm used to since I kind of got away from console exclusive gaming around the PS2 era and I never owned an xbox. I assume those controllers with the joysticks at different positions and not next to each other are xbox controllers and I feel like I could never get used to a controller layout like that, it looks really awkward to me.

I've also never used a wireless controller before and prefer wired. I've only ever heard bad things about how wireless controllers always lose connection randomly or need to be recharged right when you want to use them etc. but I guess I'd be willing to try a wireless controller if I could find a high quality one with the old controller layout I'm looking for. I'm guessing that old controller layout with the two joysticks next to each other would be called the PlayStation controller layout?

I did find the Logitech F310 in my searches, along with some similar controllers, however I noticed they didn't have a "select" button which could potentially needlessly complicate playing some older games I would want to use the controller for. I'm not sure if I could easily map the "mode" or "vibration" buttons (stuff I don't care about) as a "select" button in games.

I also did see some of what looked like very cheap controllers not worth considering that had the right button pad labeled with numbers instead of the classic letters "X, Y, A, B" etc.

I was just really shocked when I couldn't find any controllers with the classic layout/design I'm used to anywhere on the internet for the most part. I've always been able to easily find controllers like that for $10-$20 before, so now I'm wondering if maybe there's some kind of pandemic related production shortage happening with them.

To give an example of what I would use the controller for... it would be only for PC gaming and mostly steam games. I would mostly be playing older RPG's/open world and action games with the controller. Games like Dragon's Dogma, Valkyria Chronicles, Trials of Mana, Resident Evil, Dark Souls etc.

After I did some more searching, the closest thing I could find to what I'm looking for was this controller: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TZ6B5JT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's not 100% what I want but will hopefully work well enough. I don't really like the light on that controller but I'll cover it with tape if I need to I guess.

I also found this controller:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07V2P79Z2/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza

I'm not sure if it's worth $30 though or if that manufacturer is known for good quality retro controllers.

I would definitely appreciate any other controller recommendations or advice you or anyone else may have here. Thanks again!
