Comp is a good camshaft.
That IS a flat-tappet cam. You will need Zinc every change of oil.
2000 RPM for 20 minutes is the break in proceedure. Put a good strong fan in front of your radiator if you don't drive it to break it in.
Use this zinc additive or equivalent for the oil changes. It's a concentrate. I'd recommend blending minimum 3 quarts plus the required measurement and pour it in first.
The oil pump will pick up the zinc and keep the cam safe.
The engine will blend it in as it returns to the oil pan. Of course if you can find zinc enriched oil, just stick with that.
I can't stress this enough: Lack of zinc will wreck your cam in less than 300 miles. I worked for 14 months at a speed parts distributor. 2 out of 5 camshafts we sold came back because they ignored us. I'm sorry if I'm overdoing it. I just hate seeing money lost on something simple.
Then again, you could use a roller cam and not ever worry about zinc. This is for an OE roller engine but lifters for a non-factory roller are available too.
What year is your engine block?
