The phone was purchased September 2015 at Best Buy, unlocked.
The warranty expired at Motorola, November 2016.

The charging ability started to deteriorate earlier in 2016. The Motorola turbo chargers stopped working to turbo charge and then didn't charge this phone at all. Motorola sent replacement chargers, I think twice. It again stopped turbo charging on the newest Motorola base (hard to remember which charger is which but it's fussy).

It won't charge on any car based charger or cable. The battery icon never shows the charging symbol in a car. It also won't work on my portable backup battery, Powerall, which is strong enough to jump start my truck (though the car jumper cables aren't on the USB port of the Powerall. )

The only charger that the phone seems to like is from Amazon and it's marked 9W, 5.2V and 1.8 A. A second Amazon charger of the same type is also good on the old phone.

However the phone is definitely the problem and most of the chargers are just fine for other devices.

The Aukey charger you linked from Amazon has these specs. Output 1 (Quick Charge 2.0): 5V 2A, 9V 1.6A, 12V 1.2A Output 2|3 (AiPower): 5V 2.4A/port | 4.8A Max

So that doesn't report the Watts, assuming 9W refers to Watts on the Amazon charger. Also the output ranges from 5V, 9V, 12V with declining Amps as the Vs go up.

I don't know enough about electronics to know if my fussy phone wants the high V A or W. I know that the chargers we have that are 5V don't work on it...even new ones for new phones. But the 5.2V charger works for now.

This is the $19.99 Amazon charger:

This is the $9.99 Amazon cable: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B006GWO5NE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

We also have AUKEY car-based chargers that don't work on this old phone (they work on other phones).

Maybe I have to find a car-based charger that has at least 9W 5.2V and 1.8A output.

A mobile phone that can't be charged in a car is of limited use.

This Amazon charger works well for turbo charging my N6, which is very picky about chargers. Some of my Motorola chargers no longer work for it and no car chargers work for it (phone has issues with charging). This one comes with the Echo Dot and is listed as the one for Fire Tablets and Kindles. 9W 1.8A
