The white Hori Fight Commander for XB1/PC has been replaced with a new one for Xbox Series X/S and it's now in a black finish. I just had to replace my OG Fighting Commander and got the new one a few weeks ago. I'll just say i liked the feeling of the dpad on the OG model... But the link is below:

Many companies make dedicated Fighting Game controllers they often call "fight pads." These games have d-pads that are designed to be used for circular inputs, are wired for less input lag, and have layouts that place more buttons on the face of the controller. The most common and recommended ones are the Hori Fighting Commander, PowerA Fusion Fight Pad (thought the Xbox version seems to be perpetually out of stock), and MadCatz Fight Pads like the SFV Pro.

For me personally though, the best dpad I have used on a modern controller comes from 8bitdo. They make great feeling and very precise dpads. I would recommend the 8bitdo Ultimate or Pro 2. If those are too expensive, they just came out with the Ultimate C budget version.

Thinking out of the box here, what if you used the board and buttons from this here. They are microswitch buttons with built in springs. I've taken mine apart before: https://www.amazon.com/Hori-Fighting-Commander-Octa-Designed-x/dp/B08NDT2CGS
