how long does it take for the the pin to "heat up"? maybe a short or bad dc board.
I couldn't help but notice laptop has thunderbolt. do you have a 65wat or higher thunderbolt charger? if not they can be had from amazon for under $40
if this solution works, you can ditch the dell charger and still use it as is.
mine came with NO Charger from a warranty upgrade through asurion.
I've been pretty exclusively using a ubio labs wireless charger or this PD charger that is the SHiiiiiiT, works for my laptop too and power bank

I think any adapter that provides at least 45W should work.
I got this one (came with USB-C cable) for my XPS 13 9300 and it works great: ZMI zPower Turbo 65W USB-C PD Wall Charger Compatible with Laptops Chargeable via USB-C (Not Compatible with Legacy Models with Barrel Charging Ports) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D64QLQ1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_7rClFb2PV9Z76
It was the Wirecutter’s top pick: https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-usb-c-macbook-and-laptop-chargers/
If your adapter does not come with a USB-C cable, I think you need to confirm that whatever cable you buy supports power delivery (PD).
I use this one as my on the go charger. Small, prongs fold in and the cable hasn't given me any issues. It's 65w as well, been playing and charging with it at the same time with no issues. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D64QLQ1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_h5o3FbM4XT872
It only needs to be a USB-C with PD, at an appropriate wattage for fast charging. If it doesn't have PD, won't work.
Any of these (and many many more) should work, though I wouldn't necessarily recommend them. I like Anker.

Are you sure it isn't the cable? Which one did you buy?
If you've got a USB-C laptop to charge as well, I have one of these sitting in front of me, which works quite well also, and will charge anything up to 65W.
Check out my comment for details.
Bought it from Amazon for $20 w/ cable.

For usbc ive been bulk ordering these for us. Thus far no failures or issues. Also pretty surprised Amazon actually next day delivered a few hundred, i figured it would take a week or two.
