i would go with a Pi 4, even just like 2GB should be plenty, but a Pi4 can run up to most Dreamcast games on emulation
First off .. no VRS ... VRS is a turd. Since you are a HAM, all the usual RF stuff applies and 1090 is line of sight.
Pi feed is simple, cheap, and super easy to setup. Pi are reliable and very tough little devices.
