In the last year or two these (edit: boost packs) have included one or two equipment slots as well as one or two attribute boosts. I don't remember if there were any boost packs unlocked.
For those who haven't seen it yet or are looking to pre-order:
It looks like you'll get pretty similar stuff no matter where you order.
ALL pre-orders include the NHL 14 Ultimate Pass: 24 Ultimate Team gold packs, one per week.
EA/Origin is the only shop offering a goalie boost pack. I didn't feel like tracking down whatever this pack looks like.
GameStop offers the Bauer skater boost pack plus a Fathead sticker sheet (stick tap to Captain_coyote71 for the pic) and potentially another exclusive TBD.
BestBuy/FutureShop (or whatever it is) offers the Easton skater boost pack.
Amazon offers both the Warrior skater boost pack and the CCM skater boost pack.
I typically do release-day delivery from Amazon, but I dig the Bauer set from GameStop.
