It turns on whenever you have the car running. It takes a micro sd card, up to 256gb. Here's the link to it on amazon if you want : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DV51H2X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The A129 Plus Duo is on sale now for $180 CAD in Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08DV51H2X/
I picked up a Viofo A129 Plus Duo for about $150 last month (looks like it's still around the same price on Amazon with the coupon) for my 2020 Sport and it's working out great. It has a front and rear camera, hasn't interfered at all with my Eyesight, and the video quality is pretty good.
This guy's video is the one I followed for a hardwired clean install. I followed his directions to the letter and it made it really easy. Not sure if it'll be exactly the same for the Wilderness.
Fyi, the pictures on Amazon makes the camera look huge, but it's actually pretty small. Let me know and I can post some pictures of what it looks like in my Sport.
here is the camera and here is the cable. The cable actually doesn't appear to come with fuse add-a-circuit adapters but those can be found at any auto shop. Its worth noting this cable has special functionality where it can send the state of the ignition to VIOFO cameras for switching to motion detection mode. The rear camera was a bit trickier but I managed to install that as well with only visible wires being at the top of the B pillar
Make sure you were looking at Amazon as the seller, not a 3rd party one. I can see the price as $135 when I go to the site using the link on our sidebar: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08DV51H2X/
Yup, both are (non-Pro) duos. The IR one is for passenger compartment recording, the other is a rear camera model.
If you look back 8 days in this sub there’s a thread called dash cam. I posted my setup in that thread.
I’ll repost it here.
I'll provide Amazon links for clarity but, I have no affiliation with any of these products. I wanted a dash cam with front and rear cameras and after some research decided the VIOFO A129 Plus Duo was the best affordable dash cam. Also this. I decided to mount it on the passengers side so I could mount it higher on the windshield and it wouldn't interfere with the rearview. Photo. You can then very easily tuck the power cables along the headliner and down the A pillar photo. Then run the cable up under the dash. Just the open area above the pedals. Essentially you just feed it over some of the wires and brackets that are up there. Maybe use a zip tie or 2. Then you can plug it right into the USB port at the front of the console. I did that for a while, but after a hit and run I wanted one that stayed on. At first I was going to go the traditional fuse tap route but it's not possible on they CX-30 due to there not being enough space for the tap with the fuse box cover on. Realizing the cig lighter accessory plug inside the console is always on I found this RHUNDO It monitors the battery so you can set it to auto turn off if the battery gets down to a certain voltage. Also set a timer, 2, 4, 8, 12 hours after vehicle is turned off. To use that I ran/tucked the power cable under the console and then ran it up the side and into the console photo. I also had already purchased a console organizer that made this even easier. photo Under the organizer photo. This set up won't be for everyone, but it's worked great for me. Hope this helped. Also the rear camera was very easy to install also. Just ran the power cable up under the headliner the whole way back. No extension needed.
I installed these about a month ago along with the hardwire kit and it's been awesome https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DV51H2X/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
