I've tried a bunch of $250 - $450 pool vacuums and they work, however I struggled to find one that worked reliably. The either would just get stuck and require you to physically turn the internal mechanism to keep going, or as your pool filter filled up and the flow rate decreased, they would just stop altogether.
So last year I decided to try the cheap ones and I bought this one and it works pretty well, it cleans as well as my old $400 hayward pool vac and doesn't get stuck or need to be constantly taken apart and rebuilt.

The only complaint I have is that the hose is cheap and will collapse under too much vacuum, so I'd recommend using or buying a heavier duty hose.
