I have a pair of over the ear loopers, from the same problem. Here's my model:

They're dirt cheap and give me good enough sound. (When I'm working out, I listen on low so I can hear cars or other traffic, high fidelity sound is not all that important to me.) Also the cord is long enough to go down the inside of my sleeve and back up from the wrist to my armband- no bouncing wires!
I always just use a pair of Phillips earbuds that hook over the ears, a lot like this. $9. They have hooks for your ears, and they go precisely nowhere while running. I wear glasses, big chunky plastic hipster looking ones. Never had a problem with the ear hooks. Never had a durability problem. You've really got to step away from $70 earphones for this application, or be honest with yourself why you're really so desperate to spend $70. You can buy them on Amazon. That way none of your friends will see you in a WALMART, where you can certainly find phones like this without waiting for shipping.
I've gotten some pretty good mileage out of my Phillips hook on earphones.
That model is probably a bit newer than what I've got, but you get the gist. And cheap. You have to be careful with audio equipment. The best case scenario is that you get what you pay for, but the more expensive it is, the more delicate it gets.
I recommend the brand (Phillips). You don't need ultimate fidelity when you're wheezing away, they stay clipped to my ears even though I wear glasses, and I haven't had quality problems yet. Mind you I don't do marathons or anything, but I promise they at least hold up for several months of regular use. They still work, no fraying, no sound problems, and they've just been sweated up all to be damned.
Cheap and cheerful. When it comes to running 'phones you want something the Chinese can build in their sleep. Expensive audio gear opens the door to Monster Cable type scams. Get you some cheapo Phillips.
