Hey, those are my favorite genres too :-)
Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan/Brandon Sanderson - epic series
A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin - the books are better than the show, IMO
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stiegg Larsson - I thought these were going to be cheesy because they were so popular, but they're really good
Kushiel's Dart series by Jacqueline Carey - pretty good fusion of fantasy and romance
11-22-63 by Stephen King - this one will keep you busy for quite a while
The Windup Girl or Pump Six & Other Stories by Paolo Bacigalupi if you're into dystopian future stuff.
Malcolm Gladwell has lots of interesting reads if you're into pop psych/sociology. Outliers was probably my favorite.
Not out yet, but Ocean at the End of the Lane (Neil Gaiman) comes out in June.
My husband is also a total sci-fi SPONGE, so I'll check his bookshelves when I get home :-)
My vanity has been lusting for a lipstick holder :-)
