I just purchased VGA to HDMI, Benfei VGA to HDMI Adapter with Audio Support and 1080P Resolution - VGA Input to HDMI Output from Amazon. It works for some video modes and not others. For example, I can see POST screen and Windows, but booting to a DOS utility results in no video.

You need VGA to HDMI like this one:

And if the vga cable doesn’t come with one of these you need a coupler too:
