What I like is that is has no filters to change, heats the water enough to kill bacteria so doesn't need germ cleaning, only the occasional soak with vinegar to get off minerals (depending on how hard your water is). You can fill it from the top, using a pitcher (many of them you have to fill and then turn them over, which is messy). It shuts off by itself if it runs out of water, although I find that filled it can go for many hours. I find it a great relief to have it going all winter long.
