For people who want alternate recommendations:
- All Clad pans are GREAT if you want something that will last your whole life, can take a beating, can go in the oven, and are pretty easy to clean. I prefer them over cast iron by a million points because it's not as fussy and my carpal tunnel can't handle the weight of cast iron. The patent on All-Clad's tri-ply design expired pretty recently, so you no longer HAVE to shell out for that specific brand - there are tons of decently priced knockoffs now. Also, if you tried All-Clad in the pat and hated the handle design, they have versions with regular handles now. I love their collaboration with Crate and Barrel because it's brushed steel and the handles are normal. I own this fry pan and this sauteuse, and the lid of the sauteuse fits on top of the fry pan.
- If you buy All-Clad, get yourself some Barkeeper's Fried to clean it.
- Nonstick pans don't last, period. It just won't happen. Don't spend a bunch of money on a nonstick pan because you will have to replace it within a short period of time. Calphalon always has good ones. Here's a pretty standard one.
The Calphalon Classic Omelet Pan With Lid is the ONE. My boyfriend cooks eggs every morning so I upgraded to that pan last month. It’s GREAT. We were literally standing around in our kitchen last night, not even cooking anything, just talking about how much we both love that pan.
