I’m not sure but you could try. I think a cheap processor could still turn nuts into flour, and after that it’s about going for a long enough time to get to butter. Maybe stop it every couple of minutes to make sure it doesn’t overheat. Try a soft nut like walnuts or cashews, not almonds (almonds are still difficult with a vitamix and you must roast them)
You could buy a midrange processor and separate blender for less than a vitamix. Cuisinart processors are very good.
