Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but those curtains are going to make a negligible difference against those kinds of noises. For your nighttime sanity I'd suggest buying a white noise machine and some earplugs.

You give up 1db of suppression in exchange for a considerably smaller overall device size.
But good old foam earplugs, IF you are comfortable rolling them up and inserting them PROPERLY will deliver more sound reduction, for less money, and much improved portability.

Those are 38db of reduction compared to 27/28db of reduction from the earmuffs.
Some people can't tolerate the feeling of the foam expanding to fill the ear canal or the changes to equilibrium from having something in their ear, so foam earplugs aren't a great solution for everyone.
