Are the connections between the BH and tripod as well as between the BH and the tracker standardized? I’ve seen the Manfrotto name before...

OK, summary:

He has a big telescope that doesn't travel

He was explaining to me that he would connect it to the iPhone and it would allow him to take pictures using his iPhone camera.

I'm guessing he wanted to capture pictures of the stars

Does he have a tripod? Reading between the lines, my guess is he ordered a tracker.

This tracker will do a great job, something he can use for years:

Here is a low cost, but good performing tripod head:

Here is a phone mount (mounts on the tripod head):

If he needs a tripod, this one is very good for the price:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KD56R4W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This one is a smaller tripod and includes a head so you wouldn't need to get the head above:

https://www.amazon.com/Compact-Traveler-Lightweight-Panorama-Capacity/dp/B07KD3R47X/ref=sr_1_5?crid=379BBF1882HT3&keywords=sirui%2Bcarbon%2Bfiber%2Btripod&qid=1683251339&sprefix=SIRUI%2Caps%2C142&sr=8-5&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.f5122f16-c3e8-4386-bf32-63e904010ad0&th=1

I hope this is in the ballpark. I think it will show good intentions and should be generally useful.

The tracker attached to the tripod, the tripod head onto the tracker, the phone mount onto the tripod head, and the phone can then aim up at the sky and track the stars for a sharper picture. Quick and easy. And all can be gotten quickly.

Best of luck and congratulations!
