Very thoughtful gift idea. Scrapbooking is not only fun when when you create but also fun when you look back later and remember events and everyday moments. I suggest checking out Club Scrap. page kits I am not affiliated with them but have been a member for years. This is an inexpensive way to test the waters. You don't end up with a lot of leftover pieces. You don't need a bunch of equipment. There are video tutorials for every kit. There are also bonus formulas and projects. This means you don't have to make scrapbook pages with a kit. You can make mini-albums, traveler's journals, folios and other projects. I wish I had started with them. I have a craft room full of papers and embellishments I don't use because grabbing one of these kits and following along with the video is easy and fun when you don't have a lot of time.

  1. Canon Pixma printer because each ink is a separate cartridge. If you run out of a color, you only buy the one color. The inks are pigment based so the photos are good quality. Make sure to use good quality photo paper for the best results. I also have a Canon Selphy. Both of these printers can print directly from your phone once you install the app and set it up.
  2. I agree with Zestyclose_Willow_98 Skip the retro camera. I have one and never use it. 90% of the time, I use my phone. The rest of time, I use my nice DSLR.
  3. I prefer D ring 12"X12". With post bound albums, changing the order of pages is tedious.
  4. Ergonomic scissors in a large size. https://www.amazon.com/Fiskars-175800-1002-Razor-edge-Softgrip-Scissors/dp/B00168A08C/ref=sr_1_7?crid=1ZBXP8AW4X5BG&keywords=fiskars+scissors&qid=1637155281&sprefix=fiskars%2Caps%2C254&sr=8-7 Spring bound detail scissors. https://www.amazon.com/Fiskars-190520-1001-Titanium-Micro-Tip-Scissors/dp/B00114TK46/ref=sxin_16_ac_d_mf_br?ac_md=2-1-Rmlza2Fycw%3D%3D-ac_d_mf_br_br&cv_ct_cx=detail+scissors&keywords=detail+scissors&pd_rd_i=B00114TK46&pd_rd_r=a8e1aa99-fd4f-488d-9a45-21de69e3666d&pd_rd_w=ojb4c&pd_rd_wg=fM6fu&pf_rd_p=b0c493d8-5fdd-4188-b852-c552a4a3abdb&pf_rd_r=Z4R8Q9K0H6TAQG2VPYB5&psc=1&qid=1637155340&sr=1-2-ed8a42d3-65f1-4884-a3a2-0dd6e83b6876 12X12 paper trimer. I like Cutterpillar but a nice Fiskars guillotine trimmer is also easy to use. We R Memory Keepers All In One tool has several tools including a stamping platform and scoring board.. Scrapbook.com 1/4" adhesive roll. I buy these in the 4 pack. Skip the laser square tool. I use these tweezers alot https://www.amazon.com/EK-tools-Tweezers-Package-54-04000/dp/B00AZRGEF8/ref=sr_1_9?keywords=craft+tweezers&qid=1637154986&sr=8-9 Tim Holtz Media Mat will protect your work surface and make clean up easier https://www.amazon.com/Tim-Holtz-Glass-Media-1914E/dp/B07918FP9W/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1BOYAQ931H1XN&keywords=tim+holtz+media+mat&qid=1637155147&sprefix=tim+holtz+media%2Caps%2C235&sr=8-1 A corner rounder tool. If I were you, I would wait on buying a cutting system such as a Cricut or Scan N Cut. Some makers prefer Dies and a Big Shot cutting machine or Spellbinders Platinum. It would be a tool she would want to decide for herself.
  5. Wish list- Stamp and Scrapbook Expo weekend crop pass. Gift cards to local scrapbook store.

Here are a couple of books for inspiration What About The Words- Creative journaling for scrapbookers https://www.amazon.com/What-About-Words-Journaling-Scrapbookers-ebook/dp/B008BVEJD4/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=what+about+the+words+journaling+for+scrapbookers&qid=1637156349&sr=8-1 Scrapbook Storytelling https://www.amazon.com/Scrapbook-Storytelling-Memories-Journaling-Creativity/dp/0963022288/ref=sr_1_1?crid=KE6LN0Y9YDKJ&keywords=scrapbook+storytelling&qid=1637156480&sprefix=scrapbook+storytelling%2Cstripbooks%2C232&sr=8-1

If she decides to get into Memory Planning which is a sub-category of scrapbooking using a planner, this is a good place to start https://www.amazon.com/Journal-Me-Organized-Complete-Practical/dp/164021013X/ref=sr_1_1?crid=189GVXMH9K901&keywords=journal+me+organized&qid=1637156556&s=books&sprefix=journal+me+organized%2Caps%2C246&sr=1-1
