Title: Cubnet

Genre: YA anthology, comedy, satire

Word count: 11,400 (approx. in these free stories)

Summary: These are the first nine stories in what will be an upcoming book collection of at least 30 (maybe more), the framing device of which is that they involve the titular TV network or its employees. These nine stories in particular will be offered for free indefinitely on my website as samples.

Feedback sought: Just wanted to know what you think of these - also, as the hub page says, I take story ideas.

Also, check out my middle-grade book Unimaa, recently approved by a school library: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B4GR17F9

Title: Unimaa

Genre: Children's dark fantasy

Word count: 12,490 (approx.)

Synopsis: After Eino Jokinen was knocked out by a falling apple while doing farm work his older brothers should have been doing, he found himself in Unimaa, a mysterious realm ruled by one Princess Frida, who gave him the offer of ruling alongside her at the cost of his real life - all she asked in return was that he find more friends for her. 100 years later, after a girl named Lumi learned Eino's life story in school, she and her younger brother Sami find themselves in need of rescuing their younger brother Mika from being Eino and Frida's newest "friend" after they brushed off playing with him.

Feedback sought: None, since it’s already published. I’m just posting this again as a means of self-promotion since it’s been a while since I last posted it. But if I should stop sharing this, let me know.

Next time I may share some of my new project, to gauge opinions on it: it's about the ghost of a long-dead children's author and the family who moves into what used to be her house. Let me know if you want me to share that instead of this.

As is usual on the Internet, sharing is caring; if you know someone who would enjoy this, by all means direct them to it.

Two for you:

Title: Unimaa (Full Version)

Genre: Children’s dark fantasy (but it’s a kids’ book in the same way that Alice in Wonderland is a kids’ book)

Word count: 12,490 (approx.)

My pitch to you: You’re doubtless familiar with the kids’ movie cliché of the misfit protagonist. Imagine a place where everyone was like that in their past - and the person in charge was exploiting this for all it was worth.

Summary: The first chapter focuses on one Eino Jokinen, who finds himself in the titular location of Unimaa after being knocked out in the orchard by a falling apple - he meets Princess Frida, who gives him the offer of ruling alongside her at the cost of his real life, and all she asks is that he find more “friends” for her. The rest of story, set 100 years after Eino’s death, revolves around the three Laine siblings, the youngest of which, Mika, is set to become Frida’s newest “friend” unless Lumi and Sami, his two older siblings, can rescue him.

Feedback sought: None. Though because of my somewhat negative feelings about my own work, there’s a copy of just the text at this URL so you can avoid wasting money if you don’t like it: https://seriousxm.files.wordpress.com/2022/02/unimaavanilla.pdf

EDIT: In case you’re wondering, the awkward word spacing on one of the pages was fixed in the full version.
