like someone else said, this specific controller has been discontinued. as far as i know, 8bitdo never gave a reason why. but it's been speculated that nintendo forced their hand due to it being so close to their original design/copyright. there's a new model that goes by the "G Edition" name but has a slightly different design with the same internals. the original design is miles better imo.
anyway, i highly recommend the controller. i've had it since release day over a year ago and have used it extensively on both my pi3 and my switch. just make sure you update the firmware when you get it.
