I use this one from PowerA.
Quality wise I am satisfied. Sure it doesn't feel quite as good as an official one but it is fine. The sticks feel good. The triggers do have a cheap feel, for the price I don't notice.
Compatibility will be a hit or miss I think. Mostly it just works and is recognized as an Xbox pad. Steam works. It is all about the device IDs. If you can find a way to edit the reported USB device ID to the offical pad it would function exactly the same way.
I don't know about with emulators. I have had just one game not recognize the controller and that is Dirt Rally. The fix is to add my pads ID to the inputconfiguration.json
in the game files. Surely other games would have this issue but not many.
