I don't mean to be rude, but that is not a "bonsai" or a jade plant.

That is a Portulacaria Afra which naturally grow thick trunks.

Have been cultivating bonsai over 40 years and I am going to suggest, very carefully taking the wire off the stems and planting the P. Afra in a cone shaped terracotta pot instead of the glazed pot it is in.

P. Afras actually require more water than jades, because of their thinner leaves. They are not even in the same family as jades and are also heavy feeders. I use 5 drops of BGI SuperGain every time I soak my P. Afras, which is every 4 days. I never top water them and have them in a completely soiless mix of turface, pumice and lava rock, which is the reason for soaking. It gives the roots a chance to drink, while the very gritty mix prevents root rot.

Super Thrive will burn them to a crisp. I use three DROPS (from an eyedropper) of SuperGAIN, which is a thousand times better than Super Thrive, in addition to Schultz plant food.
