Stuff a 1TB M.2 NVME SSD card in your M.2 port. Put your footage on that and you will see huge improvements even on the timeline previews.

If this is the type you are referring to. It does have 2 DDR slots, dunno why they offer a 12 gig option. 12 is an odd size for dual ram slots. But yeah, get a 2x16 DDR4 32gig kit. The computer also has an M.2 PCIe slot for SSDs. So get something like a Samsung 970 evo plus 1tb.

Upgrading ram and HD isn't a "Mod" on a computer. Its a normal upgrade function nearly all machines are capable of. "Modding a computer" usually means changing in a way that is not normally supported by the manufacturer. 32gigs and M.2 SSDs are supported, so its not outside the manufacturer standard use.

As far as I can tell, they're the same computer except for a different SSD. The $1277 model has the stock 1TB SSD and the $1629 one has a Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe Gen 3.0x4 SSD. The SSD prices have dropped a LOT recently, so they may have to update their pricing. Just go with the stock and buy another SSD if you want faster/more storage. The Nexstorage Japan 4TB NVMe Gen 4.0x4 SSD is $369.99 with a heatsink and $359.99 without one. Just remember to try to avoid QLC NAND because the longevity & speeds aren't as high as TLC NAND.
Edit: Added a link to the 970 EVO Plus & added a new SSD.

The short answer is yes, upgrading the SSD and RAM is much cheaper yourself.

I just put a second 1TB SSD in from Sony. It's considerably faster than the stock drive from Dell.

Here's what I have next up for maxing out the machines RAM. Probably way more than needed for most people, but still relatively cheap considering.

I figured the drivers on the official website are more up to date, and if not I still need to know the right driver # for future updates.

Say, upgrading my ram from 16 to 32 should make the games run a little bit better?

Also for storage, which do you recommend between these 2 in terms of performance?

I'd personally go with the MP34 or 970 Evo Plus for $1 or $6 more. Similar read/write but these have DRAM, are TLC, and have higher TBW warranty.

If you don't like Newegg, Amazon has it for $4 more.

Probably not as good a deal as the2TB Intel or the Samsung 1TB, but it's still 50% off. Hot damn, ssd prices are going down.

You can start with that horrendously overpriced ram and GPU.

Trident Zs are some of the most overpriced kits available. A Gskill Ripjaws V 3600mhz 32 GB kit with the same timings only costs 4.6k-32GB-(2x16GB)-DDR4-3200-CL16-DDR4-3600-CL18-i.313325622.3953995620?sp_atk=2503347d-96f3-488d-a3fe-5c76e58dbe48&xptdk=2503347d-96f3-488d-a3fe-5c76e58dbe48). Either that or you get a 32GB kit of ram from amazon for cheaper. You might as well get DDR5 for the price of those Trident Zs

Your 4070 is moving close to 4070ti territory. Look for a model 40k or below. Once you break 40k, the cost savings of a 4070 becomes worse and worse. You'd be better off investing that money in better airflow or a better airflow case.

The 13600K should only be 20k. this means that you've spend 15k for a B660 board. A Z790 Gaming X AX which is significantly more feature rich is 16k. Even the DDR4 Z690 Tomahawk Wifi is 16k. I'd suggest you downgrade your motherboard to a cheaper B series model. Cheapest B660 board with wifi that can accommodate a 13600K would be the MSI PRO B660M-A wifi at 8.5k. This board will require you to request for a BIOS update. There tons more options between that. If you're going to spend upwards of 13k for an intel board, just take a Z series.

If you don't need the Gen 4 speeds, you can get away with a much cheaper Gen 3 970 Evo Plus at 3.2k. I usually recommend the gen4 Z440, but that's out of stock. or instead of spending 6k for a gen 4 drive and a sata ssd, just spend the same amount on a 2TB ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro at 6k.

6.5k for a 360mm is unnecessary for the 13600K. You could get away with cooling the 13600k on a more reliable air cooler like the Thermalright PA120 SE which costs around 2.6k.

Your PSU is overpriced. Even the 850W version of the FSP Hydro G Pro is only 6.5k.

If you want good airflow, Lian Li 216 looks good. Just by not getting overpriced ram you'd free more than enough budget for this.
