What mount did you get, out of curiosity? I'm looking at this for my Galaxy S7, but not sure yet...

I've had success with this sort of mount. Don't have a Nexus phone but a MotoX, but this lets the pincer get out of the way of buttons and holds it in with the rubber corners (one half of the rubber holder is longer to let the main mount be offset from the phone's middle).
