I have two suggestions:
https://www.amazon.com/Pop-Tech-Fidget-Spinner-Relieve-Anxiety/dp/B07281L1C3/
https://www.amazon.com/ILoveFidget-Spinner-spinner-detachable-bearing/dp/B06Y4JTRQS/
The first one is a nice spinner with a plastic body that has a pleasant whirr and that has some feedback (not too smooth). The second one is a classic (sometimes called cigreen C3). Depending on the bearing, the C3 might be fairly smooth, but then you could swap in another bearing to give it more feedback. They are both easily under three inches.
I could not figure out which Trainium spinner you were talking about. The one that I found on Amazon weighs 22 grams. What is the weight of the one that you bought that you say is too heavy? The WeFidget Bar is probably the one also known as the zenduo or the cigreen tank:

This is a classic, like the C3. I am surprised that you find it too smooth -- it usually has a nice amount of jutter. Here again, another bearing could increase the amount of feedback. FZ Essentials is the place many of us go to for bearings:

If you want some non-Amazon options, there is an excellent clearance sale going on at Spinetic spinners:

If it HAS to be Amazon, and you can’t wait for a drop, you might enjoy these large spin radius ones here:

For something a little more compact and small the WeFidget ones come recommended:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07432K6M2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_oFgrEbBP8WDW2
But consider these “entry level” spinners. Keep checking here for drop announcements and preorders of new spinners to experience good quality pieces. Expect to pay $60, $80, or $100+ for ones you’ll cherish for a long time and that will typically have a decent resale value as well.
This spinner is somewhat similar to the oculus in size and shape:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XFBPB74
It is usually called the cigreen mini tank, and is a nice little spinner. It doesn't come in a polished version, however, so in that way it is different than the oculus.
Hi - thanks so much for the ideas! If you have the PopTech and C3 would you mind measuring the diameter for me? I don't see that in the Amazon listings.
Is the Poptech easier or harder to spin with one hand because of the shape of the spokes? I find that a classic spinner shape is easier to spin than the two I've tried so far.
Thank you so much!
This is the Trianium I bought... https://www.amazon.com/Trianium-Spinner-Reducer-Bearing-Perfect/dp/B071CLX241
Yes - this is the WeFidget I had... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XFBPB74 No jitter, no buzz, nothing. Felt like it wasn't moving at all when it was spinning. I thought I would like that but turns out I don't!
