That is close to the limits of Class II BT. The easiest solution would be a 10-15 foot USB extension cable.
The better would be a Class I dongle with a larger antenna.

It is a Class I, so you are going to get incredible range.
And it comes with BlueSoleil, which is a proprietary stack and interface. It will do anything your device is capable of.
