This is my own handle design for the Radius Replaceable Head toothbrush.
So I’ve been using the Radius style toothbrush for probably 25 years now. In the past I’ve often just purchased a 3 pack which are about $20-$25. They seem to last about a year to 18 months, and I replace them when the bristles get worn and flared out. Admittedly, I probably should replace them more often.
So when I realized they now make a handle with replaceable brush heads, I figured it would be cheaper to spend $10 on the handle and $3.50 each for the brush heads.
Well, it arrived this morning and to my dismay, I realized I ordered the Left-Hand version. They brushes are shaped for left or right-handed use, and it’s just not comfortable to use the left-hand style in my right hand. Sucks to waste $10.
I considered just trying to copy the handle and print myself a right-handed version. So, I snapped a photo, and then imported it into Fusion360. I was able to copy the shape pretty easily. However, then I got to thinking about it, and while the Radius brush shape is way better than any other toothbrush I’ve ever used, it has some drawbacks. For one, it’s slippery when wet. Also, may hands are large, so I find it a little small. So, I took the opportunity to change the profile of the handle a bit, to make what I think are a few minor improvements to an already pretty good design.
