The Restream.io system requirements will probably drive your computer requirements more than something like Reaper or whatever editor you go with. For computers, having a large SSD and at least 16gb of ram so you're not dealing with spinning disk delays while editing and rendering is more helpful than having a recent chip. I'd rather edit on a 6 year old I7 with 16gb of ram and an SSD than a brand new i3 with 8gb of ram and a spinning platter (can you get those anymore new?).

For mics, I have a handful of Movo LAV mics and I've taped them to goosenecks on occasion rather than clipping to my shirt if I wanted a minimal presence from the mic on camera. Just use black tape and a black gooseneck and nobody can tell what you're doing. I use my cardiod lav mics for this though.

After that, get a ring light or two and mount on a flexible arm so you can get some more interesting lighting going, and mount your camera on a sturdy scissor arm so you can relocate it as needed. There are 5/8" and 3/8" to 1/4" or 1/2" thread adapters so you can mount a mic on a tripod or a camera on a mic mount. I have my laptop and monitor on a tubular monitor stand and have my camera, light, and mic arm clipped or mounted to various parts of the mic stand. This is what I use, and because it's standard sized tubing, you can get extra clamps and clips to just hang everything off of it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DWM9WNM/

You’ll want airflow. If you wanna go with the under desk storage, I’d say something like this. under desk laptop mount

Or if you want to still use the main display of the laptop combo monitor/laptop arm

III suggest gas spring arm for each. One for the monitor, one for the laptop (if budget allows for it)

It’s an MSI 24” Curved Gaming Monitor. It’s 144hz and super crisp. I got it for under $150 at Microcenter awhile back. The arm is off of Amazon. It’s only $33 normally $60 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DWM9WNM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Thanks! So my Monitor and Laptop arm I got off of Amazon. Just set it up right before I took this photo. It was only $33 when I ordered it too. It’s still on sale. It’s normally $60 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DWM9WNM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share. My Monitor is a 24” MSI Curved Gaming Monitor from Microcenter I got it back in May(?) when my previous job went WFH.
