I was having the same issue as you, and I'm a similar build as well. My biggest concern with the 5030s was the lack of chest/sternum protection, there's just nothing there.

I ended up buying them anyway, and got a sternum shirt/heart guard thingy that I think baseball players wear. The whole setup is still super low profile, but I have a bit more peace of mind than just the 5030s alone.
