I use a generic dock for media consumption on a 37” Visio TV: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZR57G7B/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_mjjVFbWF83CJV?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It offers a lot for the price: 3 USB-A 3.0 port, HDMI out, USB-C charger while using DeX, SD and micro SD ports, personally I use SD for ease with my laptop and desktop, And the best part that sold me is a 3.5mm sound out to my Logitech PC speakers (neither Samsung DeX station offer)
My only complaint is needing to take of my phone protector off, it won’t otherwise. But I live with it. It’s seem that most dock stations you need to any way. Unless you do a phone stand and hub setup, then there is the wire mess to deal with, many pro’s and con’s to making a DeX setup.
I had the same problem and this is what I got from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0838TGJCJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The only downside from extended use is that the fan from the dock couldn't cool the phone and once so far everything froze. I had the cable since March, so . . .
But yah, it works, your choice should work too.
What I like about actual Samsung DeX dock, you are guaranteed monitor support. With 3rd party saying 4k and other resolution, I found that one of my USB-C hub of 4K doesn't support it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZR57G7B/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
But with my Samsung DeX dock and Pad, I get my 2560X1080 resolution, yah not 4K but the hub didn't support but only 1920X1080 also. Point is if you want an ultra wide of some kind in the future, you will need the Samsung DeX dock or pad to get it.
