My wife and i use this. There is probably a cheaper option but I'm on mobile at the moment. This bypasses your issue completely and these Anker batteries in my experience last just as well as OEM for most of their life. The best part is, you are never on a charger. Within 2 minutes you are switched over, rebooted, and @ 100% battery. The second battery goes on the wall and will be ready when you need it. I'd skip all that usb board repair and just find a good battery and charger on Amazon and never think of it again...

I've always had a great experience with Anker batteries. You get two batteries and a wall charger. The charger works great and the batteries always work perfectly. They sell the batteries by themselves as well if you don't want to mess with the charger, but it's always nice having one charged and ready to go. No issues with NFC or anything like that. I have them for my S4, my brothers S4, my wifes old Note 2, my sisters GS3.
