the problem with "all purpose" gloves is that pounding the bag compresses the foam, and you want something cushy and pillowy for sparring. so using your nice sparring gloves on the bag is kinda a waste.

i'd just keep that in mind for the future if you wind up investing in more expensive stuff, but for now i'd recommend these ringside apex gloves. should be available and easy to find. i've been punched with them a lot (lol) and they're totally adequate for sparring and hold up to a lot of bag work, but they're still reasonably priced for a beginner.
