Link to the kit I'm talking about. https://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-Mirrorless-Interchangeable- Camera-Kit/dp/B01MXHN32J/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1507949252&sr=8-4&keywords=g85
Thanks for all your help. Do you think something like this would be a solid purchase? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MXHN32J/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_J6djBbGV6F0H4
I read a ton about the G85 and it seems like it would be good for my usage. I know it's about a year old now, will Panasonic be replacing it soon? (I'm not well acquainted with the life cycle of these devices...)

Might have to highlight the whole link and paste
I just want to know if the G85 is worth the extra price tag over the G7
/u/PintoI007 - yes, the G85's internal stabilization, weather sealing and live HDMI output make it worth the extra money.
You can get the G85 with the 12-60mm kit lens, a free 64GB SD card, a couple of extra batteries, a tabletop tripod, a case and filters - plus a low light Panasonic 25mm f/1.7 lens with filters for a total of $1045.98.
These were all shot handheld in Spain and Mallorca with the G85:
Panasonic Lumix G80/85 4K Video Test in Cadiz by Hashtag Pich (2160p - shot with the 12-60 kit lens)
Mallorca Impression 2017 | Panasonic G80 4K by Nana Malou (2160p - shot with the 12-60 kit lens)
Panasonic G85 - Spain in 4k by TJ.7 (2160p - shot with the 15mm 1.7)
Hope this is helpful and good luck with finding the right camera for your trip!
