I own this one, and has worked well and opened the door for better process to clamp and work the wood.

I really need some collet chucks and wish I would have gotten a nice set instead of what I bought. I have been turning for almost a year now, really give it take a week n it’s been a year. It took me 6 months to start investing into chucks. I use mostly the column clamping. I also use a dedicated drilling Chuck a lot too. They make everything much easier and overall make turning more enjoyable for me when it doesn’t feel like I limp or tough through a project. Fwiw most things I turn i use 1.5x6 or 1.5x4.25 usually around 3200-3800 on turncraft commander. My main two chisels I use on 90% of my cuts are a skew and round carbide. I use skew like a Russian skew knife, a real Russian skew knife is on my next to buy list, a long with a duplicator for a few things I do tight measurements on.

P.s. I have the wen Chuck also and hated it. It might have just been the one I had or using it incorrectly since I’m self taught, and might have been over tightening pretty bad . Shortly after getting it wouldn’t maintain its clamp throughout the job.
