These are what I'm looking at https://www.amazon.com/Kimberly-Clark-Respirator-53358-Universal-Respirators/dp/B08NVDFB3R . Price per unit isn't bad but I'm skeptical
I am well aware of the situation on the unmoderated /r/Masks4All KF94 sales sub. The owner left, the mods have apparently also abandoned. Lots of questionable information and promotion of price gougers.
It is easy to find crap PPE on Amazon. It's been done many times by various parties attempting to poison that well. Keeping the counterfeit narrative alive is important for those profiting from the pandemic.
There are also a lot of great deals on Amazon, and I've had great luck obtaining PPE via Amazon -- all of which I confirmed with vendors and tested myself.
Other great deals on Amazon currently:
projectn95.org has plenty of name brand products for $1-$2 or so, even after shipping there are some that about $1 apiece.
These guys are name brand and just a little more than $1 apiece via Amazon Prime.
Thanks for the list!
I've been using Kimberly-Clark N95. Could you please add that? Here's the Amazon link I buy from: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08NVDFB3R/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_G1RHPB56SM7HYYQPVQE1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I ordered this pack last month from Amazon. It's a third party seller, but it came in three days, including a holiday weekend.
We buy these Kimberly-Clark ones on Amazon, they are made in the USA by a USA company, which gives us reassurance to their being true K95 masks. My child doesn't stress out because these masks give them extra air space in front of their face. Be sure to ONLY buy from Amazon as the seller + shipper, just as Kimberly-Clark the manufacturer states on the product site, that way you know you are getting real ones, not fakes. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08NVDFB3R
Underneath, if you must wear something natural against your face, these might be good. They are silk, so they are natural and seem to breathe well. They might work with the above masks really well. We have these masks. They are super comfortable, well made, fit the face nicely, and are hand washable, though you can't use these as your main covid protection, they are not N95. We haven't used them because we went straight to N95s for the whole pandemic, and found that doubling up when using N95 masks made breathing challenging https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08D8JJNX2
Here's a solution, if you are crafty, cut a large hole in the center of these silk masks for you to breath through them, sew the edges of the hole (or use the no sew hem stuff at Joann's, if your skin is ok with that). This way you can wear the silk mask against your skin, while easily breathing through your N95 mask that's on top. Or else find another skin barrier from the other comments here that will keep the mask edges off your skin. I'm allergic to adhesives on many surgical tapes, so if you go that route, test a piece on your inner arm first to be sure you're ok with them.
I guess this doubles as a daily thread so I will risk sharing this here to help people - it's time to get serious about masks because people are going to be dropping their guard way too soon in Florida and the tourists are going to be ensuring we have the variants sooner and longer than other states which you can catch even if you've had covid before and even if you have the vax.
You can finally get real american made N95 NIOSH approved (not just KN95 which also can be fine if CDC tested) without any "middle man" directly from amazon. These are way better that ridiculous "double masking" as they often test up to 98% while surgical even doubled is only 92% and these don't touch your mouth so you aren't constantly pulling them off your face.
Now down to near $1 each shipped: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08NVDFB3R
Make absolutely sure it says "SOLD BY AMAZON" and not some 3rd party has snuck in with possible counterfeits.
Feel free to copy this verbatim or otherwise anywhere you think it will help. Office Depot also has $1 KN95 which are CDC tested to 98% but these might be even better.
ps. You must make sure nose bridge is closed to your face for any mask to "work". If there is a gap on any side of your nose and/or it's fogging your glasses, the mask is doing little to nothing to protect you and others.
pps. those use headband instead of earloop which is a NIOSH requirement as they seal better to your face that way, if you don't like that you can get these: https://www.officedepot.com/a/products/6528612 (CDC tested to 98%)
