So I just tried removing the extension arm and while it did make it way more stable, I hated the lack of mobility so I added it back.
Moving the monitor arm base more towards the leg of the desk made a noticeable improvement. I actually found a ghetto solution to fix the stability almost entirely. I put my second monitor (24") so that it's touching the side of my main 27" one and prevents it from wobbling. The 24" is on its stock base and has virtually no wobble so I figured why not and it worked great!
Obviously this means every time I adjust my monitor arms I'll have to move the 24" one accordingly, but it's the most elegant solution I've found yet.
I've also thought of using a really tall monitor mount like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Universal-Degree-Adjustable-Function-HT1001B/dp/B07Q8FN9TM/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=vesa+floor&qid=1590687666&sr=8-4
I just don't know how practical that would be.
Looking for a solution for a self standing vertical rack for my boards. I don't have the horizontal space to mount them vertically and I don't have wall space to mount them to the wall. I have some guitar hooks and I would like to know if anyone has seen a metal or wood stand that I could bolt on the guitar hooks to the top so the board hung vertical. I plan to have the stand next to my desk in the middle of the room. I could build something out of wood but I would rather something metal that would look good in the room. I am thinking the base would not have to be that big if the weight can stay mostly vertical. Any ideas?
*UPDATE*
Going to modify this and see if it will work:
