I ordered a Bestek 1000w pure sine inverter and a 100A breaker, plus some 4AWG wire and a quick disconnect. Going to connect it all up and hope that I don't trip anything. I was running my fridge on a Kill-A-Watt for a couple days and never saw it get above 240w, but I don't know how well the Kill-A-Watt would measure a really brief transient.
This is the unit I use from Amazon. It's 1000w continuous and hooks up to the 12v in the leaf. It would also work with my prius.
The DC-DC converter in the leaf is only *rated* for 1200w. Hackers have pushed it up to 1800w out of the car.
Long term replacing the chademo with a 380v split phase inverter that could hook up like a generator would be cool. However no one sells this on the marekt.
wow...that's pretty awesome!and the inverter can be had for under $300 😀✨https://www.amazon.com/BESTEK-Inverter-Digital-Display-Charging/dp/B07XYR1BS3
Where are the instructions for hooking this all up?
