Just some random stuff I'll include that I use often in clinic.

Electronics:

• A portable power bank charger. Anker or whatever, doesn't matter. Very useful around clinic when attending, nurses, w/e need a boost.
• Extra cables for charging iphones, androids, w/e.
• Airpods to listen to lectures on my iphone (Always let your attending know youre using your phone to study or look something up).

In my pocket:

• A small LED flashlight. Works much better than the dim lights you use to assess the eyes. • Sticky notes. I write down a lot of stuff, sometimes give them to patients, or just things that I need to do/reminders.
• The pen that has like Four colors on them. • A $0.69 cheap small spiral notebook from walmart to write down things that I need to look up for the date, or cases that I saw. Or just to look busy when I'm standing around with nothing to do.
• A small knife. Just to cut things up PRN. (I use a leatherman skeletool but Ive honestly had that for years. It has pliers and screwdriver/etc... Believe it or not i've actually used it to repair cabinets. Yes I am ridiculous, and attendings think I am crazy. IDC).
• I've thought about getting cheap trauma sheers but have yet to really need them. I wouldnt advise getting the $70+ leatherman rapter ones even though they look cool, when they get nasty you now have to worry about sterilizing them. Just get cheap ones that you can throw away. You can probably just grab a set of cheap ones from the hospital if you find they have an inventory of them.

• A cliffbar or some stupid snack to eat. Sometimes I will offer it to a resident or something if they look overworked. Just trying to be a bro and help another human out.

Misc items:

• Wet wipes for when you need to take a dump. I never leave home without it. Using that cheap flushable toilet paper just smears poo on your bum, and doesn't get anything clean.
• Disinfecting wipes for the toilet bowel seats.
• Scented Hand sanitizers to feel human and smell something besides sterile clinic/hospital.
• Mints. I prefer gum, but the problem is your attending with glare at you if you are chewing in front of the patient.
• Caffiene pills + L-theanine. Advil. Peptobismol.
