I love my Apple TV, but it IS very expensive, especially if you are only using it occasionally for things like Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video. (I have cut the cord, so the Apple TV is my main set top box I pretty much use for all my media watching/streaming)
I am not familiar with Roku, but I do have a Firestick on one of my TV’s and it is great for what it is.The 4K version is on sale for $24.99 right now (regular $50) and if you don’t need 4K, the normal version is on sale for $20 (regular $40). Just note, there is a coupon code I believe you have to manually put in at checkout (it says it on the product page).
I honestly think that is your best bet, especially if you already use Amazon stuff/services.
Nope. Fool.
It's not me you're challenging. AFTVNews is correct.
Any idiot can see that Amazon would not depracate the USB port. It would be marketing suicide.
Plus his well-known role as Amazon tester of new devices means that when he says unofficial, he means that's what the spec actually is.
Amazon never advertises the USB OTG capability fool. Where did you get that idiotic idea.
Amazon Firestick 4k spec. (which definitely has USB OTG)...

HDMI output, micro-USB for power only.
Eat it, FOOL
I highly suggest getting the Amazon 4K stick. I have it and it plays basically everything you can throw at it without transcoding. It is also one of the cheapest devices you can get that can play everything.

You can find the Jellyfin TV client in the Amazon app store so it is simple to install that as well.
Yes you are. You are forgetting the unfriendliness of setting up a pi and troubleshooting problems. Burning the OS is easy, but setting up everything else? Well I hope you are great at knowing command lines that have been passed down from 30 years ago. If something doesn't work right, well that's your problem for doing something that the devs/community didn't support.
Grab the firestick. Netflix will work. HDR/Dolbyvision will work (4k stick that is $29.99 right now), and you won't need to worry about troubleshooting magical problems that just pop up. If you want "other" apps, install apktime, and go to town.
Here is the listing. It's actually a promo code you have to add that's listed under the price, it's 4KFIRETV. That'll take off $25. I had another $15 from an Audible promo credit that I used that brought it down to $10, sorry if I was misleading on that part!
EDIT: oh and there's an extra 10% back on top of your usual 5% if you have an Amazon visa!
Copied/pasted from my other reply for you:

I've bought one of these great, great Amazon Fire TV Sticks and it has not set anything on fire. Total fake news. Very amazing product. Really, really great.
