Maybe this is the wrong thread to ask, but since you said add questions, I will. I'd like to know where the line is with Amazon on movie/song quotes from someone who obviously deals and talks with them. I see the shame threads, see the shirts that are blatant rip offs of movies/shows/songs, see them go to the dogs sometimes, but then I see high tier accounts with thousands of (what I would consider) infringement that have been up for years. I mean, I would love to put movie quotes on shirts, song quotes, use stars wars fonts, stranger things fonts, GOT themed phrases, but don't. Maybe I'm cutting myself short? Here's an example: https://www.amazon.com/Youre-Gonna-Bigger-Iconic-T-Shirt/dp/B07S8FR8L9 that's a little obvious, maybe this one https://www.amazon.com/Utah-Get-Two-Funny-T-Shirt/dp/B07PGLC12M
I skimmed through about 10 pages of that brand and saw shirts pertaining to coca-cola, GOT, Jaws, Pulp Fiction, Christmas Vacation, The Godfather, Star Wars, Lionel Richie, etc etc. Now to me, this is an older account, that second shirt has been up since 2017, so why would they risk all this if it wasn't allowed? I can't see them having rights because not one of them mention the movie or song it's from, just something like that it's a classic movie quote. My understanding is that copyright protects lines in movies, am I wrong, can you take a common quote or one that has become common and use it? Thoughts on this?
