Okay...as someone who broke their foot in five places last summer, I feel your pain...literally. To make things worse, I have wide feet already and my left foot will remain swollen for another six months to a year, so shoes have been a real issue.
I have four suggestions for you.
I have had some luck with Crocs. Yes...they are ugly, but they are comfortable. My main issue that the sizing is off. I have Size 10 that fit wonderfully, but another Size 10 has been too small. If you want something comfortable that doesn't look like regular Crocs, try these: https://www.amazon.com/Crocs-Unisex-Womens-LiteRide-Clogs/dp/B09622NW7Q/ref=sr_1_5?crid=3LWS1ABZQW3TG&keywords=crocs+360&qid=1685800873&sprefix=crocs+360%2Caps%2C123&sr=8-5
If you are looking for regular sandals with lots of give in the velcro, the absolute best I've found are Earth Origins. I will preface this with saying that they were bought out by another company and I haven't bought any of these sandals this year, but the ones I bought last year are awesome. I have the wide and have no issue getting them on over my swollen foot. https://earthshoes.com/products/skylar-casual-sandals-in-light-gray-r-skylar3-lgr02?variant=40682162520107
I also had luck with the basic Teva sandals -- those seem to have more velcro give than the fancier versions.
My last suggestion is Skecher's Slip-Ins. I tried four or five pairs of Skeckers and they weren't really working for me. When I tried on the Slip-Ins, I almost cried because my foot went in easily. I still have a bit of size disparity (my left shoe is tight and my right is a bit loose), but they are working for physical therapy. I got this version: https://www.famousfootwear.com/product/skechers-womens-slip-ins-summits-medium-wide-sneaker-1054301/grey-mint-41107 Make sure you search for Slip-Ins since they are a particular type of shoe for Skechers.
Good luck to you and please share if you do find anything that work for you. Searching for shoes that work for me has become a job!
