No problem! Keep in mind that I was testing with the USB adapter, so I just ordered a headset splitter, which should work as far as I can tell. Hopefully it'll be here tomorrow so I can test it, but if it works that's only another $6-10 on top of the headset price, I doubt you'll find a better combination without spending a lot more.

This is the headset splitter I ordered.

EDIT: Can confirm the headset splitter works! Just set it to analogue stereo duplex, if you're on KDE. I'm not sure I'd go with the UGreen brand again, one of the two I ordered did not work.

Hello,

I am unfamiliar with Sound cards/splitters/etc. Do usb connectors not plug into the sound card while splitters connect directly to the sound card on the mother board? How are usb able to connect, by installing drivers? Therefore, the sound card will be higher quality than a driver? (I am just trying to connect the dots through intuition, not sure if any of this is entirely correct lol).

Also, I bought this usb yesterday before you responded. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RS11M1T?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

Would you advise refunding it and buying something like

https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Headphone-Splitter-Computer-Smartphone/dp/B073ZDDTH2/ref=sr_1_5?crid=5RGKKMI22551&keywords=3.5%2Bto%2Bsplitter&qid=1681251700&sprefix=3.5%2Bto%2Bsplitt%2Caps%2C154&sr=8-5&th=1

Thank you for the help.

Edit: Just read online that the USB will use the USB dongle sound card. Is there a way to see if the USB dongle sound card will be higher quality than the motherboard sound card? Or is it just safe to assume the mother board sound card will always be better. Thanks
