I should note as others have noted that this IS a heavy pack. I'd never use it on a waist belt. If you are thinking of using a lightweight vest (like a hydration pack vest) like I do then this is an excellent choice and you will not notice the weight at all.

For waist clip/belt use I would not recommend it.
