The Fluance RT82 for $300 is a good value. For the price of the RT85 you can get the better new improved Pro-ject Debut Carbon EVO.

Pass on the digitally controlled amp powered Fluance speakers if you want an all analog setup for analog vinyl.
Analog stereo receiver: Sony STR-DH190 $149 with Bluetooth and a built in phono stage preamp with adjustable gain.
Or if there is also a TV in the room, an AV receiver: Denon AVR-S650H-R $399 $329 with a built in phono stage preamp.

Subwoofer to add now or later:
Better Bozak phono preamp. Or get a Pyle if you must be under $20.

Or turntable > RCA cable > stereo receiver with a built in phono preamp via the Phono input and Bluetooth > speaker wire > passive speakers.
Hi, I am new to the audiophile world and am struggling to understand how everything works. My biggest issue has been finding a receiver within my budget.
I am looking at buying this particular receiver as it is firmly within my budget and from a brand I recognize. However, I am curious, if this is just a two channel speaker, what is the advantage of having 4 speakers attached to it if they are in the same room? Fuller sound? I was thinking of getting two bookshelf speakers to go with this receiver but would there be an advantage to getting two other types of speakers to compliment them? Let me know if what I am asking doesn't make sense. I am just trying to get an affordable setup to play records and Amazon Music from.
Are there any suggestions as to a better receiver that is around the same price? Bonus if it has bluetooth and would also allow me to plug my TV into it (I know that is asking alot but I just genuinly don't know).

You could go cheaper with a small class d amp like the fosi tb10d or bt20a pro and a pair on Neumi bs5. I would only recommend this for a desktop or bedroom.
Bare minimum would be the Insignia turntable from bestbuy and a pair of edifier r1280t powered speakers.
Fine to start with if you already have the Panasonic CD micro system and it works well enough.
The speakers are inexpensive basic entry level so they are a sound quality bottleneck for the turntable and records. A speaker upgrade will give you better sound quality that the turntable and records are capable of providing. However you will need to also replace the main Panasonic CD micro system component.

Turntables on sale:
If you don't want a full size stereo receiver such as a Sony STR-DH190 then a mini amp is an option. A few of many $100+ options are Aiyima A08, Fosi 2120, SMSL SA300. Or lower cost Fosi Audio BL20A $68 has 3.5mm input instead of RCA output so use the correct cable or adapter.

RT83 > PA10 > Edifier R1280DBs will work however the $150 speakers will be a sound quality bottleneck for the $350 turntable. Ideally spend just as much or more on the speakers as on the turntable or buy used for half the cost.

If you must start with the low budget Edifiers then consider a later upgrade to better and often larger passive speakers and an amp or stereo receiver. Then move the Edifiers to your desk for computer speaker duty or another room for a pair of Bluetooth speakers. Or you could even start with lower cost Edifier R33BT $79 or Insignia $79 if that is your plan to later upgrade to better speakers up to or past the quailty of the RT83 turntable.

No, that's just a DAC. A receiver can be hooked up directly to passive speakers because it has amplification circuitry inside meant to drive speakers.
This is an example of a reciever.
The older RT81 is not worth buying anymore since the newer improved Fluance RT82 for $50 more adds a $100 increase in performance and component value since it adds the new optical sensor speed controlled motor for much lower wow and flutter and speed variation and the speed won't drift since the sensor is monitoring the speed 400 times a second. Includes the OM10 cartrdige that is just as good as the newer version 2M Red. Pass on the RT83 since the cartridge is not any better.
