Hi! I wholeheartedly recommend these straps by LeyuSmart to all my Just Dance newbie friends (sometimes the Amazon product link changes depending on retailer, but they're basically the same model, different colors; the Adult size should fit most hands just fine) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08D9JD5VV

I started with these for a good solid year and it really does free up your hand (no cramps from gripping the Joy Con) and you can focus on dancing and the gameplay. The very very slight caveat is that if you're a precision wizard looking to get straight Perfect moves, this won't give you the ultimate movement match. That said, I have gotten almost 95% of my Megastar scores with these wrist straps, and only the most Extreme routines with hyper precision require holding the Joy Con directly in your hand. (I'm looking at you, Bad Guy Extreme!)

But I can vouch for these straps — you want to wrap them fairly snug so there's no "give" or chance of it shifting around, but you don't want to (obvi) cut off circulation. It's akin to putting on a supportive wrist brace—taut but not too tight.

Aside from comfort, I also like these because they are absorbent and keep your Joy Con from (gross but true) getting gunky and sweaty over time. I've hand-washed the wrist bands when needed with no incident. I'm sure you could Febreze the bejesus out of them if the occasion calls for it. They're pretty resilient, and the plastic part that holds the Joy Con is surprisingly rigid and secure. Your Joy Cons absolutely lock down and stay put throughout any movement.

Hope this helps! Let me know what you think :) PRO TIP: If you're doing local co-op play, make sure the 2nd player wears the "left" Joy Con strapped in on their right hand. The product photo is misleading with a left hand wearing the strap; you should be able to use it in this configuration for boxing games like Fitness Boxing 2 or ARMS, but I personally haven't tried it.

EDIT: Just wanted to add, what a joyous Christmas bundle!! You're a cool parent 😎
