I was deciding between Avmacol & BroccoMax...now I'm looking at Sulforaphane Activated Complex & wondering if their formulation is somehow the best alternative to Broq.
I'm not going to pay 3x more for Broq...I'm just going to try 2x the dose of glucoraphanin for the same amount of sulforaphane (should equal about the same amount of bioavailable sulforaphane?).
At $15/mo for BroccoMax...VS $35 for Avmacol, $38 for SAC, $63 for Broq...BroccoMax is by far the best value if it produces similar results.
Even if you need to take 1.5-2 servings a day for optimal levels of sulforaphane, it's still the best value. Just started it this morning at 2x the dose (4 capsules for 70mg of glucoraphanin, which should equate to around 20-25mg sulforaphane?).
The only reason Avmacol might produce better results is the added moringa (& beta gluons (yeast extract) + maitake mushroom extract?). But because it's a proprietary blend (hate) we don't know how much moringa is even in it. Luckily they do specify that there is ~30mg of glucoraphanin per serving, which is 5mg less than BroccoMax.
Then the question w/ SAC is the complex of broccoli seeds + sprouts + yellow mustard seed + bioperine somehow producing more optimal levels of sulforaphane per serving & thus worth the extra $5-23 per serving VS the other two.

Found this study. So you basically put a tablespoon (10 grams) of broccoli sprout seeds in water for 2 hours for the germination to start. after that you use a 1000 watt microwave and let them in for 30 seconds to <= 60 degrees celsius. let them sit for a minute. Use a sieve for the water and eat them. In the worst case you'll get 26 mg of sulforaphane, which is alot.
IMPORTANT EDIT: 26 mg BEFORE microwaving!!
I think they taste way better than the sprouts themselves..
Edit: chew every sprout seed you have, as it increases the bioavailability of sulforaphane.
I also ordered this supplement.
