That looks nearly identical to the one I have and I haven't noticed any issues with it. Are you using a good quality cable to go from the switcher to the TV? Are you sure you haven't mixed up the red for audio with the red for video (on many component cables the video wires are thicker and shielded while the audio wires are thinner and unshielded).
Several of us use this switch box. While it only has 3 inputs, the price and quality makes up for that imo.

Make sure you get quality cables to eliminate the possibility of any interference. I use these to connect the switch box to the TV and HD Retro vision cables for my consoles. No issues whatsoever.
