She's going to need a good set of jewelry making pliers. Personally I like Wubbers but they are really expensive for a beginner. I would look at something like this.

That set comes with everything you need including a nice bail making pliers. They will also make it easier to make eye pins. But she will also need a good pair of nylon pliers. These help you straighten out your wire. You want a set that allows you to replace the nylon part when they wear down. Something like these will work.

She'll want to get some wire. They usually tell beginners to start with copper wire because it is the cheapest wire to buy. I would suggest the following guage of wire. A 20 guage is a good all round wire that can be used for lots of things. I wouldn't go any bigger than an 18 for a beginner and maybe go down to a 22 guage. If she wants to do wire wrapping, you'll need to get a 24 to 26 guage wire.

Finally, unless she wants to make her own jump rings and ear wires, which is something most beginners don't start with, you should probably look for some of those too.

Here's the last thing I'll leave you with. When I started I really struggled with the wire wrapping which is important if you want to link stuff together. I found this course online and I swear by it. It is very cost effective and I learned the most from her videos. Obviously, without knowing how familiar she is with jewelry making, maybe she already knows this stuff, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.
