i've only read two books on ayurveda, but i do have some more ayurvedic material on my amazon wishlist for when i feel ready to delve into that vast, vast ocean of knowledge and healing.
this text is extremely simple and so bare-bones that it wouldn't give you the specific information you need, but it is a great reference for starting off on the study of ayurveda. i still recommend you read it, because as ayurveda teaches us, there is power in simplicity.
this textbook is more information-dense and there are vaidyas who will suggest this book to their students and apprentices as a more in-depth approach to the study of ayurveda.
this book is the medium between the two and would make an excellent beginner's text into studying ayurveda.
due to my tremendous ignorance on ayurveda, i cannot recommend any advanced material on the subject.
